Personal Beliefs Questions regarding the future

What are your personal beliefs concerning future events:

The Rapture of the Church

I believe it will occur

I do NOT believe it will occur

Uncertain if I believe in it or not

Do not care either way

The Timing of the Rapture

I believe it will take place before the 7 year tribulation

I believe it will take place in the middle of the 7 year tribulation

I do NOT believe in the 7 year tribulation

I believe it occurred in 70 AD

The Timing of the Tribulation

I believe it will be 7 years in length

I believe it will be only 42 months in length

I don't believe it will occur at all

I believe it already occurred in 70 AD

The Position of Israel

I believe Israel is a key player in end time events

I believe Israel is NOT a key player in end time events

I believe God has forsaken his covenant with the Jews

I have no opinion concerning Israel

The Timing of the Return of Christ

I believe it could happen at any moment

I believe there are many more things to occur before it happens

I believe it may be hundreds of years from now

I don't pay much attention to when it will be

I found this poll on & it got me to thinking how much has anyone thought about what it is that they in fact believe about the future, so many of us don’t think much about tomorrow much less about the future & what it’s possibilities hold – even if you don’t send me your answers back I do hope that you take a few minutes to seriously consider just what is it that you know & believe & why & how certain are you about those beliefs

FW: Standing in the Gap

This was forwarded to me & I felt it was worth passing on

We all have someone in our lives who we need to Stand in the Gap for,

the question is are you willing to do so?

Time may seem to be standing still & nothing seems to be moving the slightest bit forward, are you ready to give up due to what you see in the natural around you or are you willing to continue Standing in the Gap for the salvation of loved ones, for restorations of families, for protection of children? Are you willing to answer the call to Stand in the Gap? I pray that this message will touch your heart to consider just what it means to take up the stand.

Love Your Sister in Christ

Today's Prayer
January 18, 2007
Dear Lord, I offer myself to you as an open vessel. Please work in my life and accomplish Your will through me. Every little thing and every great thing that is accomplished, I praise You for it and give You all the glory. Thank You for blessing my life with Your power and presence. In Jesus' name, amen.

Standing in the Gap
TGIF Today God Is First, by Os Hillman

I looked for a man among them who would build up the wall and stand before Me in the gap on behalf of the land so I would not have to destroy it, but I found none. - Ezekiel 22:30

The people of
Israel fell into sin when they worshiped the golden calf. It would not be the last time God's people would fall into idol worship. They had forgotten the great things God had done for them. This angered God so much that He was going to destroy the whole nation. Only one thing changed God's mind in the matter-Moses. Psalm 106:23 says, "...had not Moses, His chosen one, stood in the breach before Him to keep His wrath from destroying them." Moses was a man willing to stand in the gap, sacrificially, for those who were not deserving of such sacrifice. This sacrificial love by Moses is called for among His people today.

The prophet Ezekiel described another situation in which God's people fell into sin. God was ready to destroy the nation when He spoke to Ezekiel, asking him if there is a man willing to stand in the gap so that God would not have to destroy His people.

Judah was a man who stood in the gap on behalf of his younger brother Benjamin. Joseph held his brother Simeon hostage as insurance that the other brothers would bring Benjamin to Egypt. Judah had a long history of a me-focused life, but in this instance he came forward to stand in the gap for his younger brother. He responded to the anguish of his father, Jacob, by personally guaranteeing the safe return of both Simeon and Benjamin. Judah's sacrifice was rewarded (see Gen. 42-43).

Just as Christ did, we are to be those who will stand in the gap on behalf of others who are not aware of their own vulnerable condition. It is a proactive sacrificial position.

Who is God calling you to stand in the gap for?

Perhaps it is a mate; perhaps it is a coworker who has not come to know the Savior; perhaps it is a wayward child.

Are you willing to become the sacrificial offering to God to change His plans of judgment because of your willingness to stand in their place?

This is a hard teaching. This is what Jesus did for each of us. When we stand in the place of another, God moves because of our willingness to stand on their behalf.

If we don't, His plans will go forward because He is a righteous and holy God who will honor His own word, even if it means destruction.

Are you willing to stand in the breach of the wall for someone today?

Perhaps you are the only person who will stand on someone's behalf.

What are you teaching?

Not sure where I found this but it’s definitely worth taking a minute to think about.

Just what lessons are we showing by our living, walking & talking during this time period?

Our children are in fact watching everything that we do & say even when we’re not aware that they are watching us.

Do they see us making excuses & playing the blame game or do they see us drawing closer to God & leaning upon Him for our understanding rather than what the world says is ok as the easy way out?

Do our children see Agape Love in action in our lives; while we hate the sins loving the sinner unconditionally? Yes Tough Love may have to be applied or we may have to Love from a Distance to avoid the drama & stress but we are to Love regardless; just as God loved us to send His Son to die for our sins while we were yet sinners until we came to salvation to be reconciled to Him we are to Love our Spouses in the same way.

Do our children see us praying to God for our spouses’ salvation?

Do they see us praying for deliverance for our spouses from the sins & the spiritual blindness which they’re in?

Do we continue to bemoan our fate or do we pray for God to open our eyes to the lessons which we are to learn from this time?

Love Your Sister in Christ & Fellow Stander

What are you teaching your children about marriage?

Children learn by example.

They're always learning, not just in school, but in the home.

As a parent, you teach by example.

Your actions; what you do as well as what you say or don’t say when you should speak up, provide your child/children with guidelines for their future relationships.

What kind of example are you providing for your children?

  • Have you taught them that it's okay for daddies to hit mommies or mommies to hit daddies?
  • Have you taught them that lying is okay?
  • Have you taught them that stealing is okay?
  • Have you taught them that getting high on drugs is okay?
  • Have you taught them that getting drunk every day is okay?
  • Have you taught them that driving while drunk or otherwise impaired is okay?
  • Have you taught them that having sex with someone other than the person you married is okay?
  • Have you taught them that it's okay to leave a marriage when you meet someone you'd rather be married to?
  • Have you taught them that it's easier to end a marriage when things go wrong than to stay and try to work things out?
  • Have you taught them that love doesn't last forever and once it's gone, so are you?
  • Have you taught them that they mean nothing to you because your new friends are more important?
  • Have you taught them that it’s ok for other family members to do wrong & not verbally chastise them for their bad behaviors?
  • Have you taught them that “Standing for the Right Thing To Do” doesn’t really apply to your family?
  • Have you taught them that God’s Word really isn’t important or apply in today’s world?
  • Have you taught them that Love is Conditional & only given on certain conditions being met?
  • Have you taught them that it’s ok to do wrong because your spouse is doing wrong?
  • Have you taught them that it’s ok to talk badly about your spouse & their family?
  • Have you taught them that money to spend on fun is more important than paying the bills or the family’s needs?
  • Have you taught them that porn is acceptable or that internet dating is cool even if the profile is a total lie?
  • Have you taught them that being irresponsible is ok & not to care about the consequences of actions?

What your children learn from other sources might surprise you.

  • When was the last time you visited your child's MySpace site? MySpace is incredibly popular with school age children. The sexual content and innuendo on many of the sites is unbelievable considering the ages of most members of the site.
  • Are you aware of what your children are watching on MTV? What they're learning in today's music videos and video games? There's nothing innocent about the videos children are watching. The song lyrics are raw; the images are blatantly sexual or brutally violent.
  • Video games are graphic in their violence and sexual content falls somewhere between soft porn and hardcore sex.
  • What are today's kids are learning by example?
  • When was the last time you talked to your child about sex? If a child is old enough to have a MySpace site or old enough to watch MTV, they're old enough for a discussion about sex. Do you know that most teenagers don't consider oral or anal sex to "really be sex"? Do you know that many young teen girls are having routine and casual oral and anal sex?

What will future generations learn?

Each generation teaches the next.

What your parents taught you, you pass down to your children.

They, in turn, pass down your teachings to their children.

What type of future do you see for your children's children?

House Cleaning

House Cleaning

Last Week I threw out Worrying, it was getting old and in the way.
It kept me from being me; I wouldn't do things God's way.

I threw out a book on MY PAST (didn't have time to read it anyway).
Replaced it with NEW GOALS, started reading it today.

I threw out hate and bad memories, (remember how I treasured them so)?
Got me a NEW PHILOSOPHY too, threw out the one from long ago.

Brought in some new books too, called I CAN, I WILL, AND I MUST.
Threw out I might, I think and I ought. WOW, you should've seen the dust.

I ran across an OLD FRIEND, haven't seen Him in a while.
I believe his name is GOD, Yes I really like His style.

He helped me to do some cleaning and added some things Himself.
Like PRAYER, HOPE AND FAITH, Yes I placed them right on.

I picked up this special thing and placed it at the front door.
I FOUND IT- its called PEACE. Nothing gets me down anymore.

Yes, I've got my house looking nice. Looks good around the place.
For things like Worry and Trouble there just isn't any space.

It’s good to do a little house cleaning, get rid of the old things on the shelf.
It sure makes things brighter; maybe you should TRY IT YOURSELF.

FW: Standing Firm - January 6, 2007

Wanted to pass this forward for us to consider during this time of fasting

"Do you want to be healed?"
John 5:6

This was Jesus' question to the lame man at the pool of Bethesda. He
had been an invalid for 38 years. He waited by the side of the pool
for someone to help him, but after so many years of discouragement,
he really did not expect to receive anything.

Are you a lot like this man concerning the healing of your
marriages? Are you standing by, waiting for someone to help you,
getting discouraged when healing does not take place according to
your timetable?

"For the revelation awaits an appointed time; it speaks of the end
and will not prove false. Though it linger, wait for it; it will
certainly come and will not delay"
Habakkuk 2:3

God has a storehouse of blessings reserved for you. However, your
timing to receive those blessings may not be the same as the Lord's.
God has a specific timetable to accomplish His purpose in your life.
Sometimes that timetable seems excruciatingly cruel and painful, yet
it is necessary so God can work His plan.

God often uses delay to develop our character before anything else.
Before God changes your spouse, He first must change you into the
spouse that He would have you to be. We can sometimes delay this
timetable if we refuse His leading and take matters into our own

Although it is sometimes difficult to understand delay, the Lord is
just and gracious in His dealings with His children. When He does
decide to move on your behalf, you will appreciate the delay and
will often understand the reason behind it.

"Yet the Lord longs to be gracious to you; he rises to show you
compassion. For the Lord is a God of justice. Blessed are all who
wait for him!"
Isaiah 30:18

While waiting patiently for God to work things out in your behalf,
your goal should be to gain knowledge of God and His will for you in
your situation.

"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools
despise wisdom and discipline."
Proverbs 1:7

Do you fear the Lord? Do you fear taking any step in life without
first seeking Godly wisdom concerning that step? We seem to have
lost a fear of God and His awesomeness. We depend on what our hearts
tell us instead of seeking wisdom from the Word of God.

"Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This
will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones."
Proverbs 3:7-8

Returning to Jesus' question, "Do you want to be healed?"

By answering, "Yes," you will receive your healing. God alone has
the power to heal and restore your marriage. Faith in Jesus is the
key that unlocks the power of God in your life. Ask the Lord to
increase your faith and knowledge of Him as he offers you his
healing touch. Tell Jesus that you want to be healed!

I cannot stress it enough that FAITH is the key to healing. In spite
of reiterating this point often in these devotions, I still receive
mail with a common thread such as this, "Yeah, I agree with
everything that you said in the newsletter, but..." Then follows a
litany of why God's Word does not apply to their situation or why
the Lord could NEVER heal their marriage. Can you not see the lack
of faith and disrespect towards God in this attitude? We are to
claim God's promises, not proclaim that He is incapable of doing
what He said He would do!

"My son, if you accept my words, and store up my commands within
you, turning your ear to wisdom and applying your heart to
understanding, and if you call out for insight and cry aloud for
understanding, and if you look for it as silver and search for it as
for hidden treasure, then you will find the knowledge of God. For
the Lord gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and
understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a
shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of
the just and protects the way of his faithful ones."
Proverbs 2:1-8

God is all you need. You do not need the counsel of friends, taking
surveys on what they would have you do. Do not listen to their
worldly solutions. You do not need to tell your problems to everyone
that politely listens to your tale of woe. Take your problems to the
Lord, listening to what He has to say in response. Believe what He
says, and wait patiently for His deliverance. He is your only hope!

So when Jesus asks the question, "Do you want to be healed?" Answer
with a resounding, "Yes!" If you follow with a "Yeah, but...," the
Lord is not pleased with such a non-committal response.

"You are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the
other! So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am
about to spit you out of my mouth."
Revelation 3:15-16

I have given up being a half-hearted Christian. My heart is on fire
for God and His healing of families! God is mocked when one
questions His ability to heal. Trust, obey and be obedient to God's
Word and through faith, you will receive the healing you so deeply

"God is not a man, that he should lie, nor a son of man, that he
should change his mind. Does he speak and then not act? Does he
promise and not fulfill?"
Numbers 23:19

"Nothing is impossible with God."
Luke 1:37

In spite of what you see in the natural, God is at work behind the
scenes restoring your family to everything that He intends for it to

"My father is always at his work to this very day, and I, too, am
John 5:17

My prayer this week is that you might see the mighty miracle the
Lord has in store for you and your family. Do not give up hope. Do
not give up on your Lord. He is in control of your situation. Your
miracle is on its way!

May the Lord bless you, O mighty man of faith!
